Overview

During Frieze Masters London, Charles Ede opens the doors of its Mayfair gallery to the exhibition BEDTIME STORIES.

Built around Charles Ede's exceptional antiquities collection, and with the extraordinary participation of Galerie Chastel-Maréchal, Studio Ellie Peugeot and _POLIMENO imagined the intimacy of a contemporary collector's bedroom at the intersection of antiquity, art and design.

Inspired by the Renaissance studiolo, the Wunderkammer and the interior of great twentieth-century collectors, BEDTIME STORIES unfolds from le dressing to la chambre and a concealed library inspired by the Gabinetto Segreto of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. Along the way, objects from across centuries meet in new dialogues, tracing the desire, curiosity and instinct of collection from antiquity to the present day.
