Worker shabti in vibrant, glossy, cobalt-blue faience, the details and hieroglyphs in black. Mould-made and of typical mummiform, she stands arms crossed at her chest, left over right, and with a hoe in each hand, wearing a striated tripartite wig. A seed bag on her back below the wig. The inscription, arranged in vertical columns which run around her lower body, identifies the owner as the Princess Nes-ta-neb-ascheru, Chief Lady of the Harem of Amun. Intact, a few areas of faults to the glaze from the manufacturing process.
The Princess was the daughter of the High Priest of Amun, Pinedjem II, who ruled as de-facto Pharaoh of Upper Egypt from 985-969 BC. Her burial was found in the Royal cache at Deir el-Bahri (Tomb DB320), which was discovered on 6th July 1881.
