Roman marble relief fragment showing the head of a togate, clean-shaven male figure, possibly a portrait. His head turned slightly to the right, he has a furrowed brow giving him an air of concentration and importance. His short hair is neatly brushed and reveals deeply carved ears. His lips are plump and highly naturalistic. The back of the piece is flat and roughly chiselled. The fragment has some chipping to the surface, particularly effecting the nose, but is without restoration.
