Carved in a white marble, the letters in the inscription are coloured with black dye and are translated as 'Sacred to the gods of the dead, to Sempronius Adauctus. Sempronia Caelestina made (this) for (her) well deserving brother'. The text reads:
There is a fig leaf, inscribed and highlighted in black, to the right of the word ADAVCTO. One clean break down the proper left side, and another at the bottom of the smaller break piece. Remains of cement on the back and sides.
