This small yet well sculpted limestone fragment portrays the bowed head of a captive Libyan. Characterised by the almond-shaped eyes typical of the Amarna style, the prominent bulging lips and a slender facial structure reflecting the artistic conventions of the period. Emphasising his identification as a Libyan are his a goatee and the curved parallel lines of the nasolabial folds. The yellow paint that once covered the skin is still visible in patches.
