Each side shows an identical scene of Dionysus seated on a diphros and looking over his shoulder. He wears a striped himation with added red paint whilst he grasps a tendril of ivy in each hand as they meander their way across the scene. His image is flanked by two large eyes painted in added white. Tongues above the scene and a reserved band below. Two triple-reeded handles are flanked by scrolling bichrome palmettes, a palmette-lotus chain surrounding the neck, a band of rays above the foot. Dipinti and graffiti on base. Two Etruscan letters (perhaps lambdas) were incised after the firing process. The reddish-brown painted graffiti includes the letters A and P and is written in Etruscan, implying the vase was later shipped to Etruria. Misfiring on the reverse, one handle repaired, some small areas of touching in to the glaze.
